How our ethos is helping children find ‘New Normal’ during the pandemic

Certain principles of Financial Management can easily be applied to real life.  Some principles apply in every aspect of our lives – professional, social or personal. At Pankaj Buckshey, we firmly believe in making a conscious effort to create an impact on the society that we live in, through our business. That’s the reason why we are passionate about following our unique 12 Commandments of Financial Planning and we go above and beyond to implement them.

In line with our firm beliefs and vision of giving back to society and being a good corporate citizen, we make it a habit to put our best foot forward in all aspects of conducting our business affairs beyond the call of duty. We inculcate our values in our services, and fervently in our endeavours as an SOS Children’s Village fund raiser partner. The SOS Children’s Village is an independent, non-government, not-for-profit organization that works to provide for children, women and individuals belonging to vulnerable families.

Our foundational fundamentals and core ethics have proven especially successful during the times of this pandemic as we helped the SOS Children’s Village adapt to the “new normal”.

Here are the innovative ways in which Pankaj Buckshey’s partnership with SOS Children’s Village helped people in need beat the pandemic blues in September’20:

1. International Literacy Day

One of our 12 commandments of financial planning is aiming for the long-term horizon. Which is why with a little bit of help from us, SOS Children’s Village was able to collaborate with UNESCO. This collaboration led to youth from various villages participating in a global seminar, which in turn, inspired them to expand their horizons about their future. They learned how they can continue to focus on their education during the pandemic.

2. NIMHANS session

We emphasise on Risk Management, finding the right balance, and diversification of resources; therefore, we believe in empowering children with more than just education to navigate a professional life. We are extremely proud to let you know that Dr. Sanjeev, a representative from NIMHANS, conducted a session on emotional wellbeing and stress management for residents of SOS Children’s Village. His session highlighted suicide prevention and ways to take care of one’s mental health.

3. Tree plantation at FSP Shillong

A great learning that can be drawn from this pandemic is how we need to be more attentive towards our environment and strive to conserve it. Hence, the Family Strengthening team from SOS Children’s Village in Shillong; held a seminar on Environmental Sustainability in partnership with Botanical Survey of India to drive this learning home and to take real-world actions to address environment sustainability. This seminar targeted members of Bal Panchayat and those in Self Help Groups while respecting every preventive measure issued by the World Health Organization.

Through several such activities including these 3 initiatives, our relationship with SOS Children’s Village is helping children and some of the most vulnerable groups of our society to cope with the ‘new normal’ during this harsh pandemic.
